Here’s what’s important about the truth: it sets you free. FREE to correct old errors in judgement” – Jim Rohn
If an average boy from Idaho, up to his ears in debt at age 25, and a millionaire by age 31, could ever teach us something…it was Jim Rohn.
Jim Rohn passed away on December 5, 2009, after an 18 month fight with Pulmonary Fibrosis. While he will be sadly missed, Jim’s ability to teach wealth mentality to people was unique because, as he said, it is timeless information, and by learning and applying this wisdom, you could quickly transform your life into the vision you have.
It was his story about the guy who got fed up with his car, brought out a gun, and shot the car to smithereens…and then KEPT it. He had HAD it. From that day forward, things were different. He wasn’t going to put up with the crap – he was going to do what he needed to do, and from that day forward, that guy began to live the American dream. Years later, he was wealthy, in a nice home, and his rich friends would come over for a barbeque, and the conversation would spill over to his career, his rise to success, and often, he’d bring them over to this car, the shot up dead car, and say this was the last straw…THIS is what changed everything for me.
See, it wasn’t the car…it was his experiencing the “That’s it!” feeling, the thing that gets you off your butt, and seriously doing what you should be doing.
And doing that right, living by sound principals, well, it changes everything, and maybe by reading a little of Jim’s quotes, or by watching some of these videos, you might have something catch your attention, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll get so wound up, so focused, that you too will become wealthy.
(but this isn’t just about wealth…it’s about getting what you want…achieving the things you want, whether it be great relationships, fantastic adventures, or just lots of money…it’s all up to you, after all!)
Like one of his famous quotes, “You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.”, you can literally turn your life around 180 degrees when you acquire and integrate some timeless common sense thinking.
This particular video really touched me, because it highlights how plain words and simple things can give you the insight into how to achieve your goals and dreams. His inspirational story telling manner made it easy to listen to Jim, and to understand the power of his message.
Here are some of his most famous quotes that you can read and apply. In some cases, one will resonate with you, and allow you to make an instant transformation.
“Act as if what you do makes a difference – because it does!”
“Ask ‘What if’.”
“Be an exception.”
“Be enthusiastic!”
“Be loyal.”
“Be on a mission.”
“Be unpopular when necessary.”
Jim Rohn could also be very funny, and in this candid clip, he explains how to reach “the lowest of the lows” in life:
“Celebrate what you want more of.”
“Choose to think the best about others, and believe the best about others.”
“Combine your knowledge. None of us is smarter than all of us.”
“Create an atmosphere of forgiveness.”
“Develop a tolerance for failure.”
“Develop the ability to find the ability in others. It’s priceless!”
“Don’t belittle – be BIG!”
“Don’t blow your own horn, or you might miss the music.”
“Don’t waste time waiting for inspiration. Begin, and inspiration will find you.”
“Don’t wish it were easier, wish you were better.”
“Either you run the day or the day runs you.”
“Get your ego out of the way.”
“Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you don’t have time to criticize others.”
“Give whatever you are doing and whoever you are with the gift of your attention.”
“Giving is better than receiving because giving starts the receiving process.”
“Go for it!”
“Have no limits.”
“If you don’t like how things are, change it! You’re not a tree.”
“Inspire someone to be the best they can be.”
“Keep your promises.”
I really like how one guy put some of Jim’s words to some nice music by U2…worth watching!
“Learn to say NO to the good, so you can say YES to the great.”
“Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cyr over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else’s hand, but NOT YOU.”
“Make promises sparingly, and keep them faithfully.”
“Make your word your bond.”
“Never be ashamed of what you believe.”
“Never chase a lie.”
“Never kill an idea.”
“Never laugh at another person’s dreams.”
“Never let up when you are ahead.”
“Never let weeds grow under your dreams.”
“Never make excuses.”
“Never mistake knowledge for wisdom.”
“Pursue character before prosperity.”
“Put people up, not down.”
“Replace the word “I” with the word “We”.”
“Start an epidemic of enthusiasm.”
“Success is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well.”
“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.”
“The book you don’t read won’t help.”
“The major value in life is not what you get. The major value in life is what you become.”
“The walls we build around us to keep sadness out also keeps out the joy.”
“There are only 3 colors, 10 digits, and 7 notes; its what we do with them that’s important.”
“Think like a person of action.”
“Throw your heart over the bar, and your body will follow.”
“We get paid for bringing value to the market place.”
“Welcome greatness…it lives all around you.”
“Work harder on yourself than you do on your job.”
“Your alive – live it that way!”
“Your personal philosophy is the greatest determing factor in how your life works out.”
And if you think life happens to you, if you think control is outside of you…watch this last video with Jim Rohm:
